The pressure spring is surely something familiar to all of us. It plays an important role in our daily lives. We rely on it in many aspects. However, when we use it, there are often some improper usage methods. So, how should we use the pressure spring correctly?
Spring placed horizontally for use
When the spring is placed horizontally, it will cause the guide pin and the spring to wear out and break.
2. When the flatness of the assembly surface is poor
When the parallelism of the assembly surface is poor, it will cause the spring to twist, resulting in local high pressure fracture. In cases where the parallelism is poor, it will also cause the spring to twist and break after more than 300,000 cycles of use. Please improve the parallelism of the assembly surface under the condition of no more than 300,000 cycles of use.
3. Use without preloading
Due to the presence of gaps, the spring vibrates up and down, causing it to twist. However, if there is pre-compression, the spring will be more stable.

4. Exceeding the maximum compression capacity usage
Pressure builds up and causes damage. When used for a long time under close contact conditions, the spring wire part will gradually become more closely attached. This is because the hardness of the metal spring increases, causing the load curve to rise accordingly, and subsequently resulting in high stress that causes the spring to break. Please do not use it for more than 300,000 cycles.
5. Use of non-spring-guided devices
If used without a spring guide, it is very likely to cause distortion at the bottom and the body of the spring. The local high pressure in the distorted area is the main cause of spring breakage. Please be sure to use an inner diameter guide pin or an outer diameter guide device.
6. Outer diameter of the spring and countersunk hole
When the gap between the countersunk hole and the spring is too small, due to the compression of the spring, the outer side will expand and rub against the countersunk hole, causing concentrated force and resulting in fracture. The preferable diameter of the countersunk hole is the spring outer diameter plus 1.5mm. For springs with a longer free length, please use the countersunk hole shape.
7. When the protrusion length and the depth of the countersunk hole are relatively short
The guide pin is too short, which will cause the head of the guide pin and the spring to wear out and break. The ideal length of the guide pin is set to be more than 1/2 of the length of the spring, and please chamfer the C3 corner.
